Learning to counteract

On November 29, the Chamber of Lawyers of the Samara Region held a free training webinar on compliance by lawyers with the provisions of the Federal Law "On counteracting the legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime and the financing of terrorism" dated 07.08.2001 N 115-FZ.

The speaker was Elena Pinigina - a practicing lawyer, an expert in the field of financial monitoring and combating money laundering with 17 years of experience, head of the interregional expert center for financial monitoring "National Treasure", editor-in-chief of the media "Vesti 115-FZ", laureate of the national award "Teacher of the Year" on AML/CFT 2020”.

In two hours, the expert reviewed in detail the main duties of a lawyer in the field of combating money laundering, provided for in Art. 7.1 of Federal Law No. 115-FZ and other regulatory acts in the field of AML / CFT / PF; reviewed a package of documents of a lawyer for the purpose of organizing and implementing internal control, previously sent by PASO by e-mail to each lawyer. The moderator highlighted the issue of the procedure for conducting inspections of a lawyer’s activities by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Chamber of Lawyers, considered other relevant aspects of compliance by lawyers with the provisions in the field of AML / CFT / PF.

The webinar was attended by 238 lawyers.

According to the agreements reached by the Chamber of Advocates of the Samara Region with the training center, lawyers can undergo training at the interregional expert center for financial monitoring "National Treasure" at a special price in the form of targeted briefing under the program: "On countering the legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime, the financing of terrorism and financing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction in the amount of 8 academic hours. The time spent by lawyers undergoing targeted briefings at centers accredited on the ROSFINMONITORING website will be credited to the lawyer’s advanced training system, subject to the provision of the relevant Certificate to PASO.
