Know ours: the football cup is coming to Samara!

The football team of the Chamber of Advocates of the Samara Region won the silver medal in the All-Russian Mini-Football Championship among the Bar Chambers of the Volga Federal District for the Advocate Newspaper Prize.

The qualifying tournament of the All-Russian Mini-Football Championship among the Bar Chambers of the Volga Federal District, organized by the Federal Chamber of Advocates of the Russian Federation and the Chamber of Advocates of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, was held on August 24-25, 2023 in Nizhny Novgorod. The competition was attended by 8 teams - from the Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Penza, Saratov regions, Bashkortostan, Mordovia, Udmurtia and Perm Krai. The teams consisted of only lawyers with active status.

On the first day of the tournament, the PASO team, which stood out among its rivals with its bright, stylish uniform and strong play, won an unconditional victory in the group, beating the teams of the Nizhny Novgorod and Saratov regions and the Republic of Bashkortostan.

Having beaten the hosts of the tournament with a score of 5:0 (goals: Stanislav Borisov (twice), Roman Chizhov, Maxim Kaplin, Alexander Sizonenko), the Bar Association from Bashkortostan with a score of 3:2 (goals: Roman Chizhov, Maxim Kaplin, Andrey Petrov), colleagues from Saratov with a score of 5:1 (goals: Roman Chizhov, Andrey Petrov, Stanislav Borisov), the football team of the Samara Region took the first position in the group.

On the next day of the championship, the Samara lawyers fought with the team of the Perm Region. The outcome of the tense game was determined by a post-match penalty: after the winning goal by Andrey Petrov, the score became 3:2 in favor of PASO, which advanced to the playoffs of the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals, on the green field of the sports and recreation complex "Meshchersky", 4 strongest teams met: from the bar associations of the Samara region, Penza region, Udmurtia and Bashkortostan.

The Samara team played brilliantly in the match with the Penza lawyers, with a score of 5:0 (goals: Ivan Kirillov, Dmitry Gorelik (twice), Andrey Petrov, Roman Chizhov).

Finally, in a tough fight at the final match, the Samara football players lost to the Udmurtia team with a score of 2:4. Both goals were scored by Dmitry Gorelik.

President of the Chamber of Advocates of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Nikolay Dmitrievich Rogachev warmly congratulated the winners of the championship and presented them with well-deserved awards.

The PASO team received the strongest support from colleagues headed by PASO President Tatyana Dmitrievna Butovchenko; fans who closely followed the matches in the stands of the tournament: Nikolay Gennadyevich Stepanov, Ivan Vladimirovich Kucher, and in social networks. The PASO football team amazed the fans with its fantastically powerful game so much that they even expressed concerns that our players would be bought out by the Real Madrid club.

During the competition, team captain Roman Chizhov set a personal record of 6 goals.

Roman Chizhov:

- The tournament was held on a 10-point scale and was a 10 plus. This included a warm welcome, meetings with friends, an entertainment program, and, of course, the game itself. Our team performed well, very successfully, I think we have never scored as many goals as at this championship. All our players gave it their all. I would especially like to highlight the performance of Dmitry Gorelik, which in many ways turned out to be decisive.

Unfortunately, injuries to our main players from the starting five prevented us from winning the championship. Nevertheless, the PASO team, following the results of the tournament, was included in the participants of the All-Russian Championship - 2024. We are very pleased with this, happy that we were able not to let PASO down, which believed in us so much. Colleagues, the football cup is going to Samara!
