At a gala event held on the eve of Lawyer's Day in the Samara Region Government building, the lawyers who won the "Lawyer of the Year" award were awarded. This time, the winners were in three collective categories.

The "Lawyer of the Year in the Samara Region" competition has been held annually since 2018. The winners are selected by the Samara Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Organization "Association of Lawyers of Russia."
The competition is held in 11 categories: "Human Rights Activity," "Legal Education," "Legal Science and Education," "Justice and Law Enforcement Practice," "Law Enforcement," "Law and Economics," "Public Administration," "Local Self-Government," "Devotion to the Legal Profession," "Free Legal Aid," and "Young Lawyer of the Year."
The award is given for significant contributions to strengthening law and order, protecting the legitimate interests of citizens, and/or developing legal science in the Samara Region. Priority in evaluating the competitors' work is social significance, participation in community activities (on a pro bono basis), mentoring young lawyers, and the unification and development of the legal community in the Samara Region.
Representatives of the entire legal community of the region participated in the event: law enforcement agencies, the judicial system, notaries, the bar, justice agencies, as well as enterprises and organizations of the Samara Region, state and municipal authorities, and their subordinate institutions.
The award in the "Legal Education" category was presented to the staff of the Samara Region Bar Association. The competition jury noted that, in terms of the scale of its projects, the Samara Region Bar Association is one of the most significant bar associations in Russia. Under the leadership of the Chamber's President, Tatyana Dmitrievna Butovchenko, numerous projects aimed at modernizing legal education for the region's population have been implemented in the Samara Region. To promote legal education and improve the legal literacy of young people, open lessons are organized in schools, gymnasiums, and boarding schools, and the PASO Young Lawyer School project is being implemented. Extensive work is being done to provide informational and educational content for the Samara Region's population, and lawyers participate as guests and experts on TV and radio programs dedicated to legal education.
The team of Bar Association No. 44 (Ksenia Viktorovna Shamanova, Yulia Tofikovna Dzhavanshir, Anna Gennadyevna Gvozdeva, Vyacheslav Dmitrievich Pavelkin, and Evgeny Albertovich Guts) was recognized as the winner in the "Human Rights Activity" category. The lawyers of Bar Association No. 44 actively collaborate with the Branch of the State Fund for Support of Participants in the Special Military Operation "Defenders of the Fatherland," providing legal assistance in the form of oral and written consultations, drafting legal documents, and representing the interests of SMO participants and their family members in courts and other government agencies. This involves resolving a wide variety of issues and life situations on a daily basis, providing targeted assistance to each client.
Attorney Alexey Valerievich Kokin won the award in the "Legal Science and Education" category as part of the Department of Civil Procedural and Entrepreneurial Law at Samara University. The department has developed a well-known academic school of civil procedural law in Russia.
The well-deserved awards were presented to the lawyers by Yuri Mikhailovich Shevtsov, Chairman of the Council of the Samara Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Organization "Association of Lawyers of Russia."
