Lawyers of the Chamber of Advocates of the Samara Region are actively involved in the provision of free legal aid. This year was no exception.

On November 19, 2021, on the days of the All-Russian Days of Legal Aid to Children, at the site of the Public Chamber of the Samara Region, a joint event of the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Samara Region on demographic and family policy, affairs of veterans and disabled people, the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Samara Region and the Samara Chamber of Lawyers was held. area.

Members of various life forms of orphans, children left without parental care (foster parents, guardians (trustees), foster carers), heads of centers for helping children left without parental care, social shelters and social rehabilitation centers for minors in the Samara region were invited to participate. ...

The videoconference, taking into account the current restrictions on COVID-19, was organized on the Zoom platform in a question-and-answer format. In order to thoroughly prepare for the event, the heads of the centers for helping children left without parental care were asked to send in advance questions of interest to their wards.

After the welcoming words of the chairman of the commission of the Public Chamber S.V. Poldamasova and Vice-President of PASO A.V. Borodin, everyone got involved in the work.

Among the 19 issues proposed for discussion, the most acute, systemically repetitive and requiring legal support were identified, including the appeal for protection of interests in the judiciary:

- issues of providing living quarters for orphans and children left without parental care, including in the event of a change of residence of a person, lack of registration at the place of residence / temporary stay;

- issues of registration for persons from among or related to orphans and children left without parental care of inheritance rights (for example, the expediency of entering into inheritance rights in case of encumbrance of inherited property with debts (utility bills, loans), etc.

- issues related to non-payment of alimony in respect of orphans and children left without parental care (the presence of large debts, not bringing persons obliged to pay alimony to criminal liability, the possibility of judicial protection, etc.)

Heads of children's institutions and adolescents with their problems came in direct contact with the experts. During the discussion by lawyers and the chief consultant of the Office of the Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child in the Samara Region M.V. Tarasova was given advice and recommendations.

At the end of the videoconference, it was decided to prepare written explanations on all issues voiced both during the preparation and received directly during the event and send them to all interested parties.

Five lawyers from Samara, Togliatti and Novokuibyshevsk took part in the conference from the Chamber of Lawyers of the Samara Region.

This is not the only event dedicated to legal aid for minors. Lawyers individually and collectively provide free assistance to orphans and children left without parental care, and others in need.

For several years, projects on legal education of minors have been implemented in the region: "The Right to Schools", within the framework of which open lessons of law are held in various schools and gymnasiums of Samara, lawyers cooperate with the Regional School of Law at the "Samara Palace of Children and Youth Creativity."
