On June 10, a moot court session was held at the Samara Region Bar Association, organized by students of the Young Lawyer's School. This event, the traditional finale of the annual training course, provides an opportunity to apply the acquired knowledge in practice.

The session was based on a real criminal case under Article 143, Part 2 of the Russian Criminal Code (violation of labor safety requirements resulting in death through negligence), which recently resulted in an acquittal. The case, which attracted media interest due to the complexities of the defense, was completely anonymized for training purposes.

Students of the PASO Young Lawyer's School and its Tolyatti branch prepared all the materials: the prosecution and defense positions, witness statements, and other evidence. The presiding judge was A. I. Karnomazov, a lawyer with over 20 acquittals and a PhD in law.

Following the moot court session, as in the real case, an acquittal was rendered. PASO President T.D. Butovchenko provided a detailed analysis of the participants' performances, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of their presentations. She placed particular emphasis on the importance of maintaining a balance between active advocacy and excessive demonstrativeness, which does not always lead to the desired result.

PASO President and the lawyers in attendance congratulated the audience, as well as the heads of the Young Lawyer's School, T.D. Ivanova and V.I. Yankina, on the successful completion of the event. They wished the interns success in their final exams, as well as the qualification exam for becoming a lawyer.
