PASO LAWYERS CONGRATULATED THE DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL LAW AND BIOETHICS OF SAMU ON ITS ANNIVERSARY

On July 24, a ceremonial event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Department of Medical Law and Bioethics was held at Samara State Medical University. In 2003, it became one of the first departments of medical law in Russia and to this day remains the only one that combines the training of students in legal norms and professional ethics. PASO lawyers have always participated in the work of the department.

The founder of the department, Professor Vladimir Vyacheslavovich Sergeev, being a lawyer, was the initiator of the creation of Specialized Legal Consultation No. 15 to provide legal assistance in the region, the creation of which was approved by the Presidium of the Samara Regional Bar Association on September 11, 1997. Under his leadership, lawyers Tarasov A.A., Bolshakova E.D., Ilyina E.R. took part in the work of the department at Samara State Medical University.

Currently, five PASO lawyers work at the Department of Medical Law and Bioethics of Samara State Medical University: Ivanova T.D., Ryzhkova E.F., Demidovich K.V., Pozhidaeva A.G., Isaev M.S. The Department has a Medico-Legal Clinic, headed by PASO Council member T.D. Ivanova. Members of the bar association bodies take part in the scientific and practical events of the Department.

On behalf of the Chamber of Bar Associations of the Samara Region, the Department was congratulated on its anniversary by Natalia Yuryevna Sukhova, Vice President of the PASO. She noted the significant contribution of the Department to the development of law enforcement practice in the Samara region in cases related to the quality of medical care, as well as the long-term cooperation between Samara State Medical University and the Chamber of Bar Associations of the Samara Region, which has become a good tradition.

The festive event was covered by the Samara State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. The program dedicated to the anniversary and history of the Department was aired on July 27, 2023.
